This is a sample listing only!  This is to show how people have had success selling their boat effectively by properly listing a boat!

Step 1: Always have an attention grabbing picture. This is very, very important!! When someone is boat shopping, they want to see a boat jump out and speak to them, not a boring picture of the boat tied up at the marina. That’s not what a boat was built for!

Step 2: Make sure you take quality non-grainy pictures, and take a LOT of them. The more the better! People want to see what they are buying, in private, without someone watching their every move.

Step 3: Create a good description of all the boat has to offer.  Think about all the questions you would have when buying a new boat and be sure to include answers to those questions. Things such as, but not limited to:

  • Engine/hours
  • Maintenance records
  • Enclosure/Dodger
  • Single or Dual helm(s) (pictures should show this)
  • Number of staterooms
  • Number of heads
  • Anchor
  • Bottom paint
  • Any upgrades
  • Amount of water storage
  • Fuel Storage

Step 4: Do not forget to list the location of the boat and how to get in contact with you! I cannot tell you how many times someone has forgotten to put their contact info on a post.  Just remember: no contact info, no boat sell!

Example Description:
